I had an identicle problem today.  I snaped a stud on a Laser TX3 turbo.  There was enough of the stud left to weld another bolt onto it and it came out easy.  But this doesnt always work, i happened to be lucky.  Otherwise, out comes the drill and drill the c*nt out and re-tap the thread to a larger size.  I dont know if any of this will help, but i would recomend taking it somewhere that has the tools.

Subject: snapped stud

hi all, after pulling the motor out today (z18), i attempted to remove the exhaust dump pipe from the turbo, in doing so i managed to snap one of the studs that go into the rear housing. just wondering what the go is with pulling the old one out (there is enough of it to grip), can i do it, or is it best left to someone with some tools and know how?
thanks
andrew
