HOT 4'S OR FF&R DONE A FUEL COMPARISON ON A DYNO IN A MAGAZINE LATE LAST
YEAR.
THEY USED A DATTO 1200 UTE AND COMPARED PULP, AVGAS, METHANOL, NITRO METHANE
ON A STOCK ENGINE. THE NITRO METHANE GAVE SOMETHING LIKE 150% (CANT REMEMBER
THE EXACT FIGURE, BUT IT WAS BIG) INCREASE IN POWER. BUT METERING THE FUEL
WAS A PROBLEM. THEY ENDED UP FILLING A BOTTLE WITH A MIX OF 20% METHANOL/80%
NITROMETHANE AND JUST SQUIRTING IT IN THE CARBY. I'LL SEE IF I CAN FIND THE
ARTICLE.
AS WITH NITROS OXIDE, I WOULD ASSUME A LEANOUT WILL RESULT IN A BIG BANG.
WE USE INSTRUMENT GRADE NITROS OXIDE AT WORK, (BURNING IT WITH ACETYLENE)
AND IT PRODUCES BIG BANGS WHEN WE LEAN OUT. BLEW OUT THE WALL OF OUR
LABORATORY ONCE, FROM AN AIRCONDITIONER SPARK (DUE TO A NITROS LEAK IN THE
WALL).

SO IF YOU ARE GOING TO SCREW WITH HIGH OXYGEN CONTENT FUEL & ADDATIVES BE
PREPARED FOR A MELTDOWN.
