Subject: weber 45dcoes
howdy listers
i hope all is well in your neck of the woods,
[mighty fine, although it's pretty cool up here this time of year, good for
wot in the Datto on crap fuel]
i am asking about fuel pressures on webers. when you do a blow through setup
using carbies, the fuel pressure has to be above manifold pressure, so i was
wondering, how much fuel pressure can the 45dcoe handle before the throttle
pump seal spits it. I will be using a rising rate fuel regulator on this
setup
and I need to know what the max pressure I can feed this beast with is. all
the books I have read dont tell me this. also, if one of you guys has the
weber
tuning book (I think its a yankie written book and is called how to tune
weber
carbies or something like that) could you scan the 45dcoe pages and send
them
to me. I know I should invest the money and buy the book but at the moment I
cat afford it.
[The Speedpro series "How to Build & Powertune Weber & Dellorto DCOE and
DLHA Carburetors (sic)" by Des Hammill says "Webers & Dellos require high
fuel volume not high fuel pressure. 1.5 to 2.5 psi is the fuel pressure
requirement." I've found this to be absolutely true in the real world. If
you hit a weber with a high pressure fuel pump things get very messy &
dangerous under the bonnet.]
also for a different topic, can nitrous be injected before a
turbo, or would the temperatures be too high. i know that nitro methane
explodes
above a certain temperature and was wondering if nitrous has the same
characteristics.
if nitro has to be injected after the turbo, does anyone know what pressure
the nitro is in the bottle and wheter its high enough to overcome 15psi
boost.
[Pass, I know absolutely zip about any of this although it's interesting to
read ppl's views on the list.]
Terry
thanks in advance poeple and happy cruzing
Warmest Regards
Andrew Kubenk
