Hey
Wardy,
Sorry,
I don't remember what you were running engine wise, but if it is an FJ, CA or SR
with an even close to standard turbo it should pull the higher ratios no
worries. The turbo engines seem to like being loaded up with the higher ratios.
I am
running a 3.7 with a near standard SR up front and it is fine. It has been to
the drags a few times and first is still almost a waste of time. Any lower and I
would have to try launching in second. It doesn't bog at all, and gets off the
line cleanly using 2500 - 3000rpm. The most difficult part is minimising
wheelspin on the change into second. Cruises nicely on the open road
too.
3.54
would probably be OK too, but you may find it a bit of a disadvantage if you
like to go to the track a bit...
