Errol, thanks for the lend of the competition preparation reference material. It is all great stuff, I have made a copy, as discussed, and will of course make it available if necessary to others.
I sent it all via express post on Thursday so you should get it by Monday at the latest. I have also included a few pictures of Stanza rally cars from a book on the history of Rallying - Just to prove how good they were against the Escorts etc..
I have contacted my local Nissan dealership with the hope of getting new-old stock, i.e stuff that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere since the 80's, on the assumption that suitable parts aren't still in production.
As a result of my inquiries;
1. The NISMO part numbers in the 1985 catalogue are no longer valid.
2. Nissan does not carry NISMO parts - NISMO is a separate company with a separate part numbering scheme, and Nissan have apparantly had difficulties before and so will only get parts in as ordered with no refunds.
3. Nissan will charge me $98.00 air freight/customs + $20.00 per Kilogram to import NISMO (or any non-production spec.) parts.
4. The current NISMO catalogue will cost >$100, however they are going to get one themselves in about a week and will allow people to use it but not take it off the premises.
5. There is a partial NISMO 'scanned' catalogue on the web, search through the Bluebirds mailing list to find it.
6. I cannot fully comprehend the Japanese NISMO http://www.nismo.co.jp/contents.html site as I don't understand Japanese - neither does my browser.
