Michael,

If I was you I would replace the existing fuel line with Stainless braided
line which you can
route through the inside of the car totally alleviating any chance of it
getting hit by stones. I
run this on my Rally car with a return line(fuel injected) of the same
material.

The Stainless braided line is expensive compared to the steel but is great
as it is flexible &
you can easily route around anything inside the car & it looks pretty cool
which is an added
bonus. It comes in a variety of diameters so you can suit it to how much
fuel you want. You
can use standard hose clips or get neat looking Anodised aluminium ends with
the hose clip
built in.

I got mine from a speed shop & I would think most would be able to get it
for you.
