OZ Datters,
well it's confirmed and I for one am very excited. I carefully cut the weld
off the bottom of the dryer to reveal all manner of shit. Dont know what it
was but if my typing starts to slur it wasn't good. With the internals
removed I drilled a hole near the top(basically in the most appropriate
place) and inserted a right angle tube that travelled halfway down the
canister. The outer piece had enough to secure breather hose. Next I
re-filled the canister with steel wool, placed a tin sleeve inside the
rim(so the steel wool wouldn't light) and re-welded the base(very neat).
Then tapped in a drain fitting into the base (I needed to thread this
because I did it after I had welded, recommend you do it before welding).
The top of the dryer has a view hole and is threaded. I removed this,
threaded a piece of pipe (2cmlong) and inserted this to take my 1 inch K&N
filter (or return line). The dryer I used was a steel one so I could weld it
(shit at alloy). It will paint up very nicely but, once finnished, the alloy
will look much better.Looking around I have noticed that some dryers have
attractive tops that will look good in the bay. All up I got a $240 (STAR
Permormance) oil/air seperator for $20. Nothing if I had remembered I had
one in a wreck out the back. Have fun.
