HI Brad!

I have it covered pretty much in detail here : http://www.datsuns.com/510projectframes.htm . You'll need to do a bit of reading, as it's covered along with the rest of the swap. In short, I used the following 240Z components : rack & pinion assy, strut assemblies w/ brakes, springs, knuckles, etc all from the Z car. I made an adapter plate to use the small OD Z springs in the 510 tower (this part is simple). The part that keeps guys from doing this swap is you have to remove the T/C rods and mount them facing rearward and weld up new mounts.

I hope this helps. It's more work than modifying 510 steering arms, but the geometry stays correct (no bumpsteer).

Let me know if you have any more questions!

G'day Dave
I am a member of Ozdat, and I am rebuilding my P510 rallycar after many years in mothballs.  I am looking at ways to speed up the steering of the Datsun, without modification of the steering arms.  A member of Ozdat told me that you have fitted a Z steering rack to your 510.

Could you please find time to outline to me your experience in doing this.  I am looking at fitting a quickrack which I have sitting in my shed from my TR7 V8.  Hopefully I can learn fro your pricedure and save a lot of timely mistakes.

Thanks very much
Brad
