The L16 is a pretty strong engine in stock form. With low boost it should be very reliable and go like #*&$^ of a shiny shovel! Nice and cheap too huh? Good to see you having a go, keep us informed..

OzDatters/Mr Feral,
What are the minimum requirements for building a forced induction L-16
running low poundage? The last forced induction motor I built cost me $6000
not including the $1200 for head or the grafite head gasket.(194kw flywheel
@10psi) From my calculations I can do a L-16 for $1350. That price includes
decked block, close and hone conrods which have been deflashed and
shot-peened, cc'ed head and pistons, linished crank, all bearings, balance,
welch plugs, port matching inlet manifold, and assembly. Not included =
timing belt + tensioner, conrod bolts and gaskets (didn't have prices) or
the head job (mabey $600)Dont need or want forgies and dont think I need
nitrided crank +standard head gasket.
What do you think. Anything around this price going or anyone do better?
