Rob,
The CA18DE has plenty of potential with the inlet side of the head flowing heaps, but the exhaust side needs a fair bit of work to make big hp NA. Im told if you do the work 220hp is achievable  The man to contact re CA 18de is Steve Newing at Speed Technology in Melbourne.
Cheers
Feral Errol

Just wondering what the potential of the CA18DE motor is naturally
aspirated. What i mean is what is the upper limit in terms of power output.
For example if the engine had

              - major head work incl valve size increase.
              - running 12:1 compression.
              - using 45mm side draughts, and extractors
              - balanced internals.

I was considering going to all this trouble with the CA18DE or
buying a SR20DET for my 120Y.
All i want is shitloads of power and speed at the end of the day !!
