Sorry I can't answer that one for you as my book only says wot I wrote.
Maybee if you get newer struts (ie; 71-72) and put them in your 69 it will do the job 
but sorry I can't be sure.
Maybee worth a try.
Somewhere in there it showed them raising the pivot point higher again maybee on a 69 
to fix that problem??
But who knows??
