I would get a copper.. but to get one with the Duty Cycle at 215 amps
that this Autoplus has and with Spot timer etc would cost me $1600 odd
All the portable Migs with Aluminum windings seem to have only 2 year
warranty on the transformer... So with a portable the Copper is a must
But when you get into Non portable machines then the warranty on the aluminum
seems to be the same as for copper, 5 years.
I will rarely use it over 150amps but it is good to know that the extra is there
if I ever want to weld something heavier ... and it means that at 150 amp I am
hardly working the unit at all.
Duty cycle on the Coppermate is 25% at 150 amps
and the AutoPlus215 is 40% at 152 amps - with heaps more on tap
Also I want to be able to weld Aluminum, so I will need the extra power sooner
or later.

It seems to be a machine aimed at workshops, so if they can give it a 5 year
warranty with an Aluminum transformer under those conditions then surely the
little of bit of use I will give it should be no problems?
definitely getting an electronic mask, been flashed before, never again :)
Re SANDOWN
I will try and get the head on the starion and have a couple of laps in that
as the 2 door is to far away at this point.
