Gday
I have listened to evryones arguements of how formula 1 shouldnt be regulated
but have to disagree. I am not an engeneer, just a f1 spectator. If the f1's
werent regulated as to what they can or cant biuld then the races would be even
more lopsided than they already are. At the moment probably 4 different teams
have a realistic chance of winning a race. If there was no regulation then the
teams with the most money would have so many things the smaller less well funded
teams wouldnt, which would mean that for most teams there is no use even racing
as they cant win. At the moment there is bugger all passing in f1's and there
would be even less if FIA said there are no regs(excluding lapping backmarkers).
There is no doubt that the cars can go much faster but is this nessacarily
better? The safety of the spectators and marsshals would be comprimsied along
with the drivers. I rekon that if there were no regs to make the cars more even
that the top teams wwould have 500kph speeds in the starights. But ask yourself
this- Would you pay a couple of hundred dollars to go watch a race where the
cars are going so fast you cant even identify them, they would be gone from your
vantage point in less than a second. It doesnt make for entertaining viewing.
And if you were a sponsor would you pay 20 million bucks to have your logo on a
car that is going so fast that no one can actually see the logo. Without fans
and sponsors f1's wouldnt be around. I say slow em down, it is a race between
the drivers not the engineers.
Pele.
