Hi everyone,
We have had a few people chatting on IRC about all things Datsun over the
last couple of weeks. I thought I would prepare some step-by-step
instructions on how to set it up for the IRC newbies out there.
1. Download mIRC from:
http://tucows.mirror.aarnet.edu.au/files3/mirc58t.exe
2. Install it using the defaults when prompted.
3. Open mIRC.
4. Click Options on the File Menu. Select "Connect" in the category box. On
the right, now select EFNet from the list "IRC Servers". Then select EFnet:
AU, Telstra in the box below.
5. Now enter your Name, and a fake email address into the spaces provided.
Choose a nickname for yourself (i.e. Sunflower or Dattohead or something
like that) and enter it in the Nickname box. In the Alternative box, put a
name to use if your first choice is unavailable such as Dattohead2. Now
click the "Connect to IRC Server" button.
6. Select "Join Channel" from the Commands menu. Enter ozdat as the channel
name when prompted and click OK.
7. Type "Hello everyone" and start chatting :)
Hope to see some more people on there soon. Evenings are when most people
show up.
