feel sorry for me, but it definately felt great to see all those replies
titled 'bastards'. I am really writing make sure that you don't have the
same done to yours. I was just discussing with a mate that day that I need
to buy an alarm, and he was going to get a number which he used in Geelong.
If only they had tried when I had installed it, but I guess they are never
safe. I was thinking that it might work if I had two wires coming out the
rear of the car, both connected onto the body, and then when I park it, just
connect it up to the power lines. I'd sure like to see the remains of the
guy who tries to steel it then!
Serously though, even one of those club locks would help to deterr a robber.
Even though I hear they are really easy to break into, if there are two
cars - one with and one without one, then they'll take the easier option.
So please, fork out the money for a serious security upgrade, for it's just
the worst feeling to hear it's been taken.

Chris and BB's,
I have a Grant removable steering wheel on my dime. When you park your car
you can remove the steering wheel with a key and cover the hub with a
security plate.
You can take the wheel with you or lock it in the trunk. It only take a couple
of seconds to remove or replace it. The security cover plate says on it
"Security System By Grant" It sure is hard to steal a car when you can't
steer it. If they really want it they will have to tow it.
The security hub cost about $100 plus you will need a grant steering wheel or
other compatible steering wheel.
This is about the same cost as an electronic system but it does not prevent
them from breaking in and stealing the stuff inside. My dime is not a daily
driver and is usually in my garage so it works for me.
I have also installed a Kill switch that is hidden in the car. If they try to
crank the car it will crank and crank but will never start.
What other types of security systems are being used to SAVE OUR DIMES??
ENJOY THE RIDE!
David
