$4000 will get you off to a good start if you can find the motor & gearbox
cheap enough.
What car is it going into?
I have spent nearly $5,000 putting the SR20det into my bluebird, but I
started with a budget of $3000 and just chipped away aat it for a few
months. The bill is now in the 5's... :)
Fj would be a whole lot simpler and probably a bit cheaper. Don't rule out
the CA18 either, it is supposedly just as good and is a good compromise
between the FJ and SR as far as bang for buck$.
