James,
That's great news. I have a fuel & ignition immobiliser but I still use the
old fashioned crook lock - they say that visual deterrent is just as
effective as the electronic stuff.

On the noise, you would have to look for some obvious impact damage as joy
riders are to fussy on their lines through roundabouts etc. Check your
suspension bushes, have someone turn the wheel if does the noise when
stationary and when you find the cause I hope it's not too much of a
problem. Whatever it is, it really pails into insignificance seeing as your
baby is back home.

I had felt a little sad when I heard that Chris and you had their 1600's
stolen as I sure I speak for others on the list, but I feel that we have
invested a bit of time helping you younger enthusiast out from time to time
to get your cars they way you want them and then some low life goes and
steals them - it's like stealing a little bit from all of us and we feel for
you. There are 3 1600's in our work car park, a very nice stocker, a rally
beater and mine and I have talked the other 2 owners into using their crook
locks as our car park has a security and guards but they can't watch all of
the car all the time and you can't rely on anyone else to look after your
car for you.

Subject: Stolen Datto

Well, guys my car is BACK, all in one piece, it was a joyride, they even
left my jacket a T-Shirt and my skateboard in the back but took my mates
jacket from the front!!! go figure! It was stolen from Wheelers Hill, and
found about 2 K's away (lucky i had no money for petrol!!)

Anyway, im waiting for my paycheck, and then im gonna get some security!!
Thank you all for your concern, and before you put that next part on get an
immobiliser/alarm if you dont have one, something goin on with datto's in
melbourne, Chris i'll let ya know if i find em, i have a few mates who live
in the area asking around for me. Since i got it back however there has been
a sqeake from the front left brake i think, it happens when i turn the wheel
right but only when i turn it about 1-3 inches right, after that it stops,
quite annoying constanly adjusting my line driving down the road, any ideas
guys?

Thanks again everyone

James "lucky my datto is back" Morrison
