If you can get a shell to Oz it costs you nothing except rego. to get it
numbered.
I presented Luke's car for rego. with a totally unnumbered body. No real
drama. After proving it had no body number Vicroads just allocated it a
body number, which has to be then stamped on the body - must do it one day.
I read that Mag where the guy who had restored a rusty body claimed he later
found out about the importing the shell bit. That's what started our
research. One of our listers at the time worked for Nissan parts and checked
it out with Japan. Not so lucky, although there are still a surprising
number of OME spare bits around.
