I was at Autobarn in Stones Corner(Brisbane) and I was talking about an XY
poster on the wall. He promptley said that he saw them racing at Bathurst
and said that was when he working for the Nissan works teams. I corrected
him saying "don't you mean datsuns". Turns out he worked on the 1600's and
1200's for the Nissan works teams. This guy and his son who works there
know every last detail on a 1600 from the rubber on the road to the paint on
the roof. It was a real treat to find guys who were actively involved with
these beasts in their heydays.
