The N13's never featured the sr20 motor at all, the best they had was the holden GM engines.

The SR20/det conversion can be done but with the costs and work involved it is not worth it.

Instead go for the Bluebird 4WD CA18det, with the front mounted intercooler and coil packs. This is almost a bolt in conversion and only simple mods (e.g looms ect).
You will find the engine mounts all line up and the box to use is the viscous LSD that comes standard on all N13 Q's. Ahh... just noticing you said non turbo, you'll have to get the none turbo version =)

I will be doing one personally within a few months if all goes to plan and will post every detail @ www.datnet.org, there already is one that has been posted on AutoSpeed.

Power increase is good, alot more technology in the ca18 to the GM's.

But Terry, as nice as an SR would be, a CA is alot cheaper, spend some money on it and it will go just as hard for cheaper.

Refering to the other posts on SR20det's, the quad throttle body sr is not a bolt up fit to a fwd gearboxs and will need modifications, best bet is to grab the turbo and manifolds, 200sx/silvia injectors and computer and wack it all together. Still a bit of work but alot easier and alot cheaper!!

Subject: N13 Datsun pulsar question

List,

Speaking of Pulsars, a work colleague has bought a N13 Pulsar in very good condition for his daughter ($1500) as it was wholesaled and it comes with a dodgy gearbox. He was looking for some advice from me as to what would be a good transplant. Knowing not a lot about Pulsars I would ask the list for some help on this one.

I'm thinking SR20DE (no turbo as it's for a P plater).

regards
Terry

Subject: datsun pulsar question

my mate has a pulsar that he is interested in learning about
it's got stamped on it KMN10  I'm assuming this is just an N10 cause all the new ones are N13,N14,N15
it's a 2 door and looks like a fastback type shape
it has an E15 engine and 5spd box

it's completely stock all over including original chromes and badging
he's been told by quite a few people that this is a rare car and has been offered quite a bit of money for it

is it really rare or are they just mad?

Dave
