Nikki,

Some 200B models had 5 speed boxes, there were 3 types that I know of: the
Aussie Borg Warner depress box which has standard H pattern, Japanese 5
speed with standard H pattern but has reverse under 5th and the SSS Coupes
(and I think the Aspen) came with the Dogleg box. The ratios in the Japanese
boxes are stock L4 but the Aussie box had a slightly lower 1, 2 & 3 and a
big gap between 3 & 4. They are reasonably good box with no major problems,
not quite as strong as the 240K but the dogleg is up there with the best of
the L6 boxes.

Subject: 200b 5 speed?

I went down to the wreckers looking for a window (some bastard smashed it
breaking in, also gotta get a new glove box... :( and asked about 5 speed
boxes for the 200b. I thought a 240k was a good option, but the guy said he
had 200b 5 speed's for $175. I hadn't heard of them and was wondering
whether anyone could give me an idea of how good they are compared to the
240k ones? ratios etc...
Cheers.

nikki small.
