i just recently fitted a set of `81 4wd hilux 4spots to the 253mm 200b
discs which are the same as the 253mm 240k discs(dba315), the calipers were
the type with the small and large pistons. on a 200b you dont need to swap
the struts as there is enuff clearance, but the 510 has to have them
swapped(calipers to the front instead of rear) because the calipers do foul
the tie rod ends.
other than the swapping of struts they bolt straight on but i had to
use the hilux mounting bolts as there wasnt enuff thread on the originals,
you should remove about 1-2mm from the end of the hilux bolts or use a thick
washer just to be sure they dont foul the inside of the disc as they are a
bit longer.
they use the db288 pad and they arent that expensive either. the pads
are heaps easy to change too as you dont need to remove the caliper to
change the pads. just pull two pins and the pads slide out easily, a bit
like the stock 1600 ones only easier
i tried a 13" cheviot hotwire over mine and it only just fit with about
2 or 3mm clearance im not sure if that is really enuff or not but 14" fit
easy

I'm about to purchase the parts for the above conversion but I don't know
which model 240K to get the struts from, does it matter?
The brakes will have to go under 13 inch superlites it that helps. Also I
want to put the 4 spot hilux calipers on while I'm at it, which model hilux
should I get these off? Are the pistons all the same or are there two small
and two large(I've heard that you can get these), are they better than 4
large pistons?
Sorry for all the questions but I just want to know exactly what parts I
need before I go and start pulling parts off cars at the wreckers.
