I agree that it isnt only early dattos my 71 has had it happen several times, i now have hood pins. The hood pins give u a false sense of security though as i found out one day, i was so keen to take her for a test drive after puttin in a 5 speed i forgot to check them, 150meters from home change into second wham! oh *$#^ where did the road go hehehe. So just remember two forms of atachment is best ie OE latch and pins and always check they are in place b4 u go for that test drive.......Tod. >From: "Andrew Greenbury" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Re: 1600 bonnet >Date: Thu, 9 Nov 2000 11:00:37 +1100 > >richard, >weird you say it only being a '68 model problem; a guy in eltham >had it happen to him in a later model, and i have heard of some >others it happened to too..... >how do you secondary fix your bonnet(s): pins or a strap >somewhere?? >andrew > >From: "Richard Clough" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date sent: Wed, 8 Nov 2000 23:16:22 +1100 >Organization: 31595-oem-0006546-85749 >Send reply to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >Subject: Re: 1600 bonnet > > > The only flaw in an otherwise perfect car.
