it shouldnt make a difference to your
insurance what you do to the motor, im of the opinion that if you have to buy
a computer anyway there is less than no point buying a factory 1 as they arent
tuneable, hence the increase in dumppipe size and ic cant be fully utilized
because more fuel cant be added. + have you seen the size of those afm's
yuk.

I'll think about it, its just that the more mods I do to
the engine (externally) the greater my excess on my insurance. I would
rather spend the money on an intercooler, dump pipe etc before upgrading the
computer.

have you considered using an aftermarket
computer, early microtechs are cheap and will do the job well, you also
get more power and can boost it. i have just upgraded from a d4 to an mt8
on my z18, i dont really want to sell the d4, but im sure there are plenty
for sale

I've found a Z-18et for a really good price without
the box or the computer and harness. Everything else is
there. I already have a few L series boxes at home so I don't need
a gearbox but I do need a HARNESS and COMPUTER. If any of you guys
who have put aftermarket computer on your zeds have one lying around and
are willing to sell it, could you write back.
I JUST DON'T WANT TO LET THIS ONE SLIP THROUGH MY
FINGERS, BUT I'LL HAVE TO IF I CAN'T GET A COMPUTER AND
HARNESS
