hi all, after getting the car running again on
the d4 and then deciding to go for a mtx8 fuel and ign, i cant get it to go
again.?
with the d4, the main coil
was firing to the exhaust side??
heres the deal
wired the comp up, turned the key, started 1st
go but ran really rough. so then i went about setting the computer up a bit
better like setting the tps, trimming the fuel for the injectors...
tried again and no go, ok reset everthing, still
nothing.
basically since then fiddleing with a few thing
i got it started again by 1/2ing the plug gap, now it would idle but really
rough again.
pulling all plugs out they all fire as they are
supposed to.
back in and on with the timing light, no signal,
so out again with the plug #1 and it fires but wont give a flash on the timing
light.
checking all the leads the timing light only
flashes on #2 and #3?????
but all leads give a spark?
then for no real reason it wont start
again?
so it would seem the spark is weak so i tried,
new coils/dizzy cap/ leads and same deal.
ive tried another mtx8 with the exact same setup
and its dizzy and same deal, wouldnt start. ill try my comp/dizzy on the other
car to rule them out as faulty, but i highly doubt thats the case
all connections have been soldered so i dont
really think its a loose wire
1 wierd thing is when going to put the other
dizzy in the plates where they butt were backwards (1 side is shorter than the
other)
1 thought i had was the cam is 180deg out, hence
coil #1 firing the exhaust with the d4 and the plates backward?????
im so out of ideas right now anything would be
very muchly appreciated.

soon if nothing turns up.
