Check the little switch in the header tank..
Give it a clean then stick it back in and try it...
If not replacement.
Have replaced a few of those during my time at Ford..

Hi
One of the fellas at work has an EA/EB Fairmont, and there is a light coming
up on the the dash that he does not know what it is. It looks like a
cylinder with a fan inside. His oil and water are both ok, the fan on the
radiator works, and the temp of the engine (according to the dash guage)
doesnt rise above the middle mark. There is also an alarm that sounds when
this light is on. Anyone have any idears on what this is?
