Wayne,
A radiator has straight tubes with fins placed over the tubes. An
intercooler has tubes withj lots of little "fins" called turbulators inside
each tube. This is done to increase the surface area contacted by the air
passing through the tube. A good air/air intercooler may be up to 70%
efficient but a radiator used as an intercoolr would be about 10% efficient
and may cause flow problems due to the core thickness.
My thoughts anyway. I am open to criticism and enlightenment!
Cheers
Feral Errol

Subject: Radiators used as intercoolers?????
hi,
this may sound stupid but could you use a small radiator as a intercooler if
all the holes were welded up except inlet and out let. or is there a
differance that wouldnt allow this.
