Hi Andrew, I had a worked L20 up until the other week. My 76 cam operated
from 4000 to 8500 rpm. It wouldn't really come on strong until about 5500 to
6000 rpm. I never took it past 8000 rpm though. If your crank is standard I
wouldn't be going past 7000.It still gave surprisingly great torque down
low. 5th gear @60 kph no worries. If your head is ported properly with big
valves etc, and your bottom end is balanced etc, then there's no reason you
shouldn't be able to get 180 to 200 hp with 45's. Mine was putting out 106kw
@ wheels. I can't remember the torque figure sorry. That's with 10.5cr ,
premium fuel and quad 45 throttlebodies.

Hope that gives you an indication.
Scott....

Errol or anyone else who has a worked L20.
Where would you say the max power and torque falls on the rev range?
What would be the max usable rpm.Just curious.L20 with say ported
head,76 works grind, pair of 45's,extractors and big exhaust etc.
