Yeah I agree on the old cars...
I drive a 89 Pulsar hatch...bright orange red...turbo muffler...I've worn my
hand brake out...snapped one cable on the left wheel completely...back tyres
are bald as a shaved beaver...regularly blow cobwebs out the exhaust at 6500
RPM, overtake in bicycle lanes (actually it was an emergency that
time)...NEVER been fined...a few reasons in order:

1. Lucky, damn lucky
2. Cops dont pull pulsars over, they are granny cars
3. Wheels are discreet EXA mags...cops would look for shiny mags IMO
4. I am polite to cops (eg when they enquire why I did the u-turn at the
lightsand then merged lanes without indicating (which I DID btw but I played
dum...always works))
5. Lucky...did I mention lucky

So I would highly recommend slipping an SR20DET in a 88-90 Pulsar
Hatch...you wont get hassled by police.

Now when it comes to Datsuns...wellllll...I've been doing up my 200B for the
last 6 months and I was driving it out the front of my house when who should
come around the corner but some friendly policemen hungry for
revenue...noticed I had no plates on it and swooped in on me...again I was
polite and played dumb and off they went no $300 fines... thankyou boys.

A cop fined my friend for undue noise in his SSS 180B...he chirped 2nd
through a roundabout...CHIRPPED!!! He could have done doughnuts around the
roundabout and got the same fine!!!!!

Just some thougts...oh yeah and another cool thing about the pulsar...no
stereo+no valuables = never had anyone break into it....makes me wonder why
I lock it
