I looked into these delco ecu's a while ago but decided against them as i couldn't get the parts cheap enough. You need to get the 32KB version as a starting point(VR-VS man comm) if you intend to run forced induction. You can get the 16KB version upgraded but this costs. You also need a 3bar map sensor to run forced induction(more money). You also need to use the right ignition pick up,drivers and coils.Same goes for the tps and idle control.Compatable injectors, colant and intake temp sensors etc. Then you need to have the ecu modified so it can be programed. Then it needs to be programed. One of the agents in Perth quoted me $1000 just for the 3bar map sensor, ecu modified and tuned.I would have to supply and fit a 32 KB ecu and all the gear to make it run.Unless you can get all the gear you need real cheap and you know someone with the tuning sofware I wouldn't bother.Just my opinion.

Surely there are heaps of commodore wreckers with these?

I dunno maybe they are popular now for conversions..

The later model commodore ones are better i think to use as they are updated or faster or something..
