I,ve been using ULP in all my Dattos for the last 5 years with no alternate
fill ups with leaded/LRP and no additives. Both the L and A series engines
have run faultlessly without any signs of damage. My 1200 coupe has done
over 24,000 miles purely on ULP and is still okay as is my L26 in my 260C (I
mean was 'cos I sold it a week ago) which had done over 30,000 on ULP. Our
ULP is generally 95 oct with PULP being 98.
LRP is total crap fuel. It doesn't have to conform to any kind of standard
here unlike all other fuels. I wouldn't use ever it. Besides, if ULP did
damaged the cylinder head every 15-20,000 miles it would still be cheaper to
repair the head than pay the extra for LRP over ULP.
