Terry,
Most water pumps are engineered for 1- 2000 rpm engine speed operation on a
car being driven on a hot day by an imbecile.
The biggest problem is they are most efficient at very low engine speeds and
draw lots of energy at high engine speeeds. I think the Davies Craig elctric
ones are a much better idea like there thermo fans were in the 80's.
The new metal types corrode very quickly unless the correct coolant mixture
is used.

There was a bit of discussion on another list about different types of water
pump i.e. cast impeller or the newer metal types. Have you any thoughts on
which one is best. Nissan, Toy and probably others are using the metal type
these days on turbo engines. Just wondering....
