Rick,

Make sure the club you join has access to the events you want to do.
For example the Nissan Car Club in melb seams to be mainly into rallying
(1600 orientated).
I am not into rallying much so I joined the Nissan Datsun Sports Owners club
(mainly Zed and fairlady orientated) because they they are a more track
orientated club.
Go along to a few different clubs general meetings to find out what they are
into.
If you want to get into sprinting I would suggest doing a driver training
day first. You can learn a lot at these.

Regards
Trev
