Me and my friend will be dropping a CA18DET
into his 180B some time in the near future. Does anyone know where I can
download a manual, including the wiring for the motor?
Is it a straightforward transplant? He has an
automatic gearbox at the moment, but he is in the process of aquiring a 5 speed.
Anyone know where he can buy one? Someone told me they are imported by the
palette load. Where do you get the right tailshaft or is it cheaper to modify
the original one? And engine/gearbox mounts? Is there a kit available on the
Gold Coast or somewhere?
I will be fixing up the wiring after it was bolt
cutted through the main artery. Can you just solder up the wires especially
those wires going to the coils?
What has to be changed on the motor when going from
an auto to a manual box? Does it screw with the deceleration rate like the L20B?
Do you need a spiggot bush like the L20B? What other parts will he need
(radiator? complete fuel line? including pump, filter?/surge
tank?)
How do you rig the clutch up?
He already has 200B front struts and it happily
throws you through the windscreen so stopping is not a problem...he doesnt like
the stability of the struts though, maybe there's something wrong with them.
They have hard red springs...maybe one of the shocks is gone.
His diff is a CIGLOCK special, any recommendations
other than that?
