List,

I used an automatic L20 pump in my engine. Only because it had a viscous clutch fan
hanging off the front and I couldn't fit an electric fan in.

The automatic T/M water pump has cast, curved vanes as opposed to the four, cheap,
folded vanes on the normal pump.

I can vouch for the pumping efficiency of this pump, it can collapse the intake pipe
because the suction is so high.

I ended up keeping the stock L16 radiator because of the increased pumping power.

Will this pump exhibit cavitation at high revs (<7000rpm)?

Steve,
L20B and 240K pumps have different impeller depths as well. The deeper
impellers are ok for low engine speed running in hot weather but cavitate a
lot at high engine speeds.

They probaly bolt on although there are some differences. ie the z series
has a deeper cut, you can spot the differece if you sit them side by side. I
don't know if this will affect the performance of the pump. I ended up using
a z20 pump, although harder to find second hand they are similar in price.

my 2 cents
Steve.

Chris,
Just a stock L18/L20 pump will do.
