Nick,
The stanza uses a voltage stabiliser on the rear of the instrument cluster.
If the stabiliser is blown the fuel and temp needles cycle up and down.

Speaking of thermostat housings,
Are different temperature senders compatible?
I have a b/bird housing and sender, but it does not work with the Stanza
gauge.
The Stanza gauge seems to work with a pulsating voltage, rather than a
constant 12v. Or is there a problem with the Stanza electrics?
Everything worked before the swap.

Nick

It fitted in the big M16 hole in the side (as opposed to the water temp
sender on the front).
It screwed in OK, but there was too much thread on the switch. I couldn't
find an M16 tap so I just tightened the switch all the way in. I think it
should be OK. At least now it is flush and won't leak.
Now I just have to work out how to wire it, does anyone know? Has two male
bullet connector thingos on it. I'm sure there is a factory plug for it but
female bullet connectors fit on it anyway.
