I dont see that an 1800lb pressure plate is an overkill.I use a 240mm 3100 lb pressure plate with no problems other than being a little hard in heavy stop go traffic.Mine has different fulcrum points in the diaphram so it is a little easier to push in than some others that just have a heavier diaphram.
