Andrew,
Brad and I had the same problem, the std setup is
lousy. Terry suggested higher wattage globes and since
using them it is much better.
I thought of doing the same as you, but the printed
circuit board restricts what you can actually do, so I
suggest higher wattage in the first instance.
They are 12v, so there is a selection of push in
globes of varying wattages to choose from.
