I'll assume you've got the PBR rears out of the Aussie R31. There are a couple
of ways to fit new pads, neither what you'd call easy.

1. With a special tool that fits into the slot in the piston and winds it back.

or 

2. Remove the return spring and undo the bolt that holds the lever onto the 
back of the piston. Then push the piston back into the bore and re-fit the bolt 
and the lever. Make sure the slot in the piston is pointing the correct way as 
you wont turn the piston with the adjuster in place.
