Hi all,
I have 3 lovely Datsun 1600s in various states of completion. Here is a
quick rundown of my
collection, since Richard was asking about them:
The Rally bug has bitten me recently and I have decided to compete in
various events.
I want to turn one car into a PRC car, which from memory requires an L18 SSS
with the
Hitachi twin "round-top" SU carbies. I already have these components, but
does anyone
know of other requirements for PRC? Can you modify brakes, suspension and
differential
without limits? How about hydraulic handbrakes and fuel and brake lines
running inside
the car? I know all the CAMS requirements like steel roll cage etc. but just
want some
specific info on PRC for 510s. I want to race the finished beast on the
pea-gravel bush tracks
we have here around Perth mmmmmmmm ;o)
Another of my Datsuns will have a L20B race motor put in soon and will be
lowered for tarmac races,
rallies and autokhana/motorkhana. For that car, I'm just aiming for under 2
litre class events.
I am pretty OK for info on the L20B car and will modify that one to the
extreme.
Anyone out there got an R 200 LSD (viscous or clutch pack), 4.11 or higher
for sale?
I'm also chasing rose-jointed lower control arms and adjustable camber
strut-tops and any other
performance suspension goodies.
The third car is complete, running and licensed and totally stock and will
probably get some headwork
done and new higher compression pistons as per 1600 SSS specs (L14 pistons
will do I believe).
In a perfect world, I would also like to get a fourth 1600 with an SR20DET
and some comfy interior
mods etc. to use purely on the street. Such is my love for the venerable
1600.
There seems to be a fair few of these cars around Perth, seemingly they are
much harder to find over
east?? Sorry about the long bit of waffling, some of this email could have
made it to the "wanted" classifieds.

Cheers fellow Ozdatters,
Rob
