As embarrasing as it is to say, I had a shop fit the dissy simply cause the 
car was in the shop at the time and he suggested the old needed replacing so 
I said yeah go ahead. Problem is I dont know what coil it is, I will check 
the sticker on it when I get home tonight.

What type of coil would suit the standard 1600 dash tacho ?

I've got an autometer tacho in mine and when I fit the S2 bluey dissy I
brought a bosch electronic coil to suit.  Hooked up the same way as the old
coil, i.e tacho trigger on negative and haven't had any probs with it
reading out.  What tacho and coil are you using?
