For the average punter I think that there's nothing wrong with the microtech's.There
are plenty of people using them for racing etc and when tuned properly they will
perform as well as most others. If they will run all your requirements then they are
ok.I've never heard of any reliability problems with these units unlike some other
more expensive brands that have a bad reputation. They dont suit my requirements for
the datto as I like boost control and anti-lag .I have a van with a 4G61 turbo mitsi
motor in it with a microtech which works fine producing more power at the wheels than
the factory got from the motor. The cold start works fine and fueling is spot on.It
controls the thermofan and a shift lite as i dont have a tacho. This is all I needed
so it was perfect for the price.A friend just fitted an autronic to his evo4 which
fits into his original case and plugs straight in,remove the airflow meter, connect
the map sensor, fit the boost solenoid, set the boost levels and run on a dyno for less
than half an hour to cover all load and rev points and the autotune does its thing
and its ready to rally. The antilag required a fast idle type solenoid. These were his
requirements and this computer was hard to go past for the price as he saved on
wiring and tuning.Autronic are currently expanding there plug and play line up with
only the evos and wrx's so far it looks like the gtr is next. Many of the top
workshops are including the autronic in there line up as customers want more.I'm
raving on again,I'll have to stop this.
