When I do them I just raise the back of the car up on stands and remove the
wheels, make sure the handbrake is off and you should be able to move the drums
pretty freely, if you have a look a the back of the drum backing plate you will
see the adjuster. It is square, I use a small socket from a 1/4 socket set I
think ( the small one anyway) and use where you normally put the ratchet over
the square adjuster and use an allen key in the other end to turn it clockwise.
When you turn the adjsuter you will feel it tighten then loosen as the corners
on the square adjuster turn (this is so they don't loosen or tighten
themselves). you just turn it a few times then check if you can turn the drum.
I also git the drum a tap with a aluminium drift to make sure the drum hasen't
locked to the drumn shoes. I usually adjust it untill the drum can't be turned
then come back one or two clicks on the adjuster and check it. others can
probably expand on this, I hate drums and have rebuilt mine recently but will be
doin a disk converison later in the year if I stll have the sedan
