Subject: Some pics posted, not the good ones...

Well, I got some of the photos posted.

My digital camera sucks, so if I'm not where I can charge batteries, and
I
care that the pictures come out, I use my film camera. I haven't
finished
the roll, so it could be a while still for the good ones...

Anyway, a few pictures from the Larison Rock Hillclimb are at:

www.premier1.net/~thedoc/larison/

Most of these pictures are off-topic here, but are pretty cool. The
class
was won, and the record shattered by a total sleeper Datsun 510. The
engine
was from an '84 300ZX Turbo, with a dyno'd 340 crank HP. That's equal
with
my estimate. However, it weighs 2400 lbs, 800 lbs less than my MkIII!
Also, the suspension is completely custom up front, and has revised
geometry
in the rear. Best of all, the car is a daily driver.

There are two photos of my car in grid, post-wreck. While it definitely
is
not handling right, it held up amazingly well. I really have to thank
the
cage for most of it! The car was practically driven off a cliff (45
degree
embankment), with three seconds of hang time landing on its nose. It
then
flopped over onto its roof, and rolled twice to land on its wheels. It
stopped about 100 feet down from the road.

There are two closeups of some decals (taken when the car was still
shiny)
at:

www.premier1.net/~thedoc/decals/

When I get the film pics done, I'm sure I will post - they should be
much
better.

- Mike
