I used small OD coil overs with no problems. Keep coil over angle in mind
when meauring up where to put xmember with eccentric bushes.

Cheers Brad,

I am not sure if I can get a 4WS irs r31 rear end, so i may have to find out
if the normal r31 irs (without 4WS) will do the job. The machining and
cut-shuts dont bother me. I am a bit worried that the shockers and coilovers
will not fit within the 1600 shocker mounting location and surrounding
bodywork.

ps. Sorry about the other email account, CSIRO wont allow emails to be sent
from certain addresses like hotmail.

Regards,
David Thompson.

Your email won't let me reply, blocked from your end so I have it here:

The 4ws works hydraulically moving the rear xmember within the confines of
the large rubber bushes. Get rid of the 4ws rams, and measure the mounting
points in the shell for the original xmember. Then go to machinist and get
eccentric aircraft grade aluminium or steel inserts made up to replace the
large rubber bush and utilise the original mounting bushes (or nolathane).

The only difficulty I had with the conversion was that the track is wider
than the 1600 xmember. Not a problem with flares as it is only about 2"
however if you want the tyres inside the guards you will have to cut and
shut a small amount either side of the diff.
