hi, it just gets rid of any interferance on the 12 volt line. like
voltage spikes, interferance from alternators, as far as i can remember if
you look at a dc waveform on a oscillascope, that has been rectified from
ac, with no filtering, the line is not dead flat, it has little bumps etc
on it, but if you put some capacitors etc across the neg and pos terminals
the line on the scop[e gets dead flat/smooth. dc batteries have a dead flat
line.
SOMETIMES even though the power source is coming from a battery and
alternator setup, there can be noise in the line. this can be enough to up
set the fuel computer.
that is what it did to my microtech digi one, the guy said that the old
microtech`s are a bit prone to interferiance in some cases.
