Any idea what system Ford uses in their 4L 6cly ?

>James,
>Many different system from truly variable lift, duration and open & close
>settings to VTEC (H*nda) which is just like having two camshafts with two
>different profiles - one for low rpm and the other for high rpm so as you
>can see I don't consider this system as truly variable - it works well
>though as H*nda VTEC engines produce amongst the higher HP per litre in
>road
>production NA engines. The ECU turns on oil pressure supply on at 4000 rpm
>to lock a pin in the secondary followers which starts up a second set of
>valves. The VTEC engine is a 4 valve but only uses two valves up to ~4000
>rpm and then the other two get locked in.

>Plenty of reading on Google.com if you're interested: this one's not bad
