James,
Spent this morning rally-bashing the 1600 around the fire trails of Mt.Buller and Mt.Stirling, then retired to an afternoon of spring skiing, followed by a end of season party tonight with free food and alcohol - it's a hard life!!!!!!
Unfortunately I sold the Skyline rims just before I moved to Buller. I will keep an eye out for a set of them if you want. There reasonably common so it wont be long until some turn up.
I might be interested in the globes-how much do you want for them? do they have rubber?
My friend is getting a FJ put into his 180B this week. It's a clean, standard looking car and he lives in ACT, so keep your eyes open-it should make quite a impact when it hits the street!!!!.
Hows the 200B? any further mods? I am leaving Mt.Buller tommorrow and spending 3 days in Torquay before returning to Canberra. On the way, I will be stopping at the 1600 workshop in Bayswater to buy some adjustable radius rods, which I need desperately. This will be the last mod for a while, as I need money for my trip to Colorado.
Any more news on ACTDAT? I might go to Braddon this friday night to see whats fresh on the scene, have'nt been there in nearly a year- is it still good?
Anyway, keep it sideways,
Damien.

Dear ozdatters,
It's been a while since I wrote to the list, and with the snow season ending this sunday I'll be returning home to Canberra to pursue my other passion, the Datsun 1600. When I get home there will be two new projects waiting for me, first is a standard 1200 coupe that my little brother bought of a sweet old lady who owned it since day one, and the second is a immaculate 180B that was also purchased of a sweet old lady for a ridicously low price!
The 1200 has a reconditioned 1400cc engine that runs quite well, so the first mod that I want to do is upgrade the brakes. I have heard that 200B discs and calipers bolt on to the 1200 strut, can anyone clarify or add to this? Any other easy but benificial mods that can be made to a 1200 using the massive array of parts available from other Datsuns??
My plan for the 180B is to fit it with a modern, bolt in, and naturaly aspirated engine. I was thinking of maybe a Z20, Z22 or Z24. The car is to be a neat cruiser that performs, but does'nt draw attention. So far it has 240K brakes, KYB and heavy duty springs on all four corners, a 260Z 5 speed and a nice stereo. It also recieved some new tyres, to replace the horrible re-treads that it came with. Has anyone out ther done a similar engine transfer to the one I proposed? How much would one expect to pay for a Z-series engine, and where would be good place to look? can they be bought with fuel injection standard?
Any info or advice on the above topics would be much appreciated!!
Forever upgrading,
Damien.
