Linc,

The bolt with the "T" on the head is the long one and it goes where you have
said. All the other bolts are the same length so you may have had something
get into the hole that's giving you trouble - old gasket from cleaning the
block surface is usually the culprit. A head gasket should only be torqued
once but you can get away with what you have done if the surfaces are
extremely flat and you've used a good quality gasket like an ACL etc. Oil on
the gasket is not good, time will tell if you continue with it.

regards
Terry

Subject: a14 help - AHHHHH!!!!!!!

hey people -
I am trying to put the head back on the a14, but the front right
head bolt hole seems about 5 mm shallower than the rest (except
for the long one on the left)..but all the bolts (but for the
long one ) are the same length. this is troubling me - why? is
something wrong with the thread?

also, i took the head back off, after almost tightening it all
the way down, and now there is a bit of oil on the head gasket -
is this a problem?

Linc.
