Title: RE: Quickest Z18et 1600

That is where the multi link rear is good.  How do the sylvias go for launch with theirs?

    Chris,
Trying to stop the squat by using heavier springs etc doesnt really work as
making the rear end stiffer only leads to wheelspin. If you have a look at the
280z's that are running 10's at kwinana they have longer softer springs that
push the rear end to the limits of the shock length. This puts the wheels at
around 2 deg positive camber when the car is stationary but as soon as its under
power it probably sees 0 deg camber and may only see .5 degree negative camber
on launches which still leaves a lot of tyre on the road for traction.A typical
1600 rear end with a bit of hp pulls the suspension to the stops under
acceleration creating around 4 deg neg camber. Not much tyre left on the road no
matter how wide the tyre is.
